ISLA VISTA, CA – At approximately 10AM on January 19th 2010, an unconfirmed source indicated reports to Santa Barbara Fire Department that a small tornado swept through Goleta. According to the same report, a roof was lifted off of a home on Scripps Crecent Dr. and Marymount Way. These houses are located behind Girsch Park, in front of the Ocean Meadows golf course. Santa Barbara County Fire Department was unavailable for comments at the time of publication. Please check back for updates.
1:32 PM – David Sadecki, public information officer of Santa Barbara Fire Department stated, “I can not confirm the report, however there is a clear trail of debris,” possibly indicating a small tornado or water spout.
Sadecki said more information will be released within the hour.
