ASPB Asks Who Do You Want UCSB Extravaganza 2010?

Ana Pineda

For 30 years, Extravaganza has been the culminating event everyone looks forward to during spring quarter. It features some of the music industry’s best and hottest acts across the board. Their genres range from hip-hop, rock, indie, techno, and pop. Associated Students Program Board tries to bring an eclectic mix every year to this UCSB local festival hosted at Harder Stadium. As the 31st annual X’10 approaches, we plan on doing the same.

As a current member of AS Program Board (ASPB) and the entertainment writer for Ole Today, I figured this is the perfect medium to post this question. ASPB wants to ask you this simple question: WHO DO YOU WANT TO SEE AT EXTRAVAGANZA 2010?

As a little background history, ASPB provides sweet concerts, lectures, and free Tuesday night movies at 7:30 and 10:00pm to the UCSB campus. Our job is to provide the best programming options to the students for low costs.

Extravaganza is as much your show as it is ours. We would love to hear your suggestions, since we are beginning to plan the event. Please note that we will not be able to fulfill all requests, but we will take your suggestions into consideration. Let your student voice be heard, and tell ASPB who you want to see at X’10.

For those who are newbies to the school, some of our prior acts have included the following: T.I, Ludacris, Girltalk, Nas, Hellogoodbye, Saosin, Cold War Kids, Ben Kweller, Rebelution, and Talib Kweli.

Enjoy! We’ll be listening!
