“Three Days of Rock, Reggae, Jam, and Electro on the Beach.” Sounds like a pretty perfect weekend, right? Well, this annual weekend of music, called West Beach Music Festival, is occurring this weekend at West Beach. This festival, complete with food vendors, popular rock and reggae bands, the sand and the surf, is sure to be a crowd-pleaser and a weekend to remember.

This year’s West Beach Musical Festival is housing some of reggae and rock’s biggest names. Included in this all-star lineup are names such as G. Love and the Special Sauce, The Bravery, Ben Harper, Rebelution, Pepper, and Slightly Stoopid. There are four stages spread along West Beach, including Bob’s Stage, housing the rock bands, Bashment, showcasing the reggae talent, Oasis, showing the electronica bands, and the Sandbox, which includes bands performing specifically for children. Although many well-known bands will be present, some less widely known talent will be present on all four stages. For a complete lineup, check out the West Beach Music Festival website.
Although West Beach has been highly anticipated for many months, some tickets are still available. A three-day pass costs $105 dollars, but if you’d rather only go on Saturday, when some of the well known bands are playing, each individual day costs between $30 and $50. Sunday single passes have unfortunately sold out. The bands begin playing on Friday at 3:00, and start Saturday and Sunday at 12:30. That leaves plenty of time to people-watch, browse the vendors, and grab some food before the bands take the stage.
If a mixture of concerts and sand really isn’t your thing, many clubs and restaurants are housing after parties for the older crowd of festival-goers. A $20 after party pass will get you in to all of the weekend’s club events, hosted at downtown hotspots such as Tonic, Sharkeez, and Sandbar. For a complete list of after party information, visit the West Beach Music Festival website.
Although some tickets are still available, they will sell out very quickly. So if you’re interested at all in attending, be sure to go on www.westbeachmusicfestival.com to get your tickets, and spend the weekend in the sand, sun, and surrounded by music.
