These apartments, located on Trigo, are “unique” because residents are friendly and it’s a “happy” place to live. Craig, the landlord responsible for all the paintings and decorations says if someone wants to add on, he’ll probably allow it.

Lisa, who moved to 6598 DP in June, says, “This is the best place I’ve lived in IV. There’s always something happening and I love everyone here. With 1 unit upstairs housing 12 girls, and 1 unit down stairs with 9 guys and 1 girl, there’s always people in and out.

Recently, a rock was thrown through the front window, but no one knows why, “it’s a complete mystery.”

Residents who wish to paint on the building apply by sending in their drawing to St. George & Associates (landlord) and if accepted, it is permitted to be painted on the building. It’s actually a contest including 6 of the residents, the winner of the best drawing wins $1000

998 Camino Lindo

This unique house is officially known as “The Dome,” but also referred to as “the beehive, pineapple house, egg house, or geodesic dome – which is actually the true name of the shape,”says resident Zachary.

An interesting fact about the six guys living in the dome, all UCSB engineers, is they built their own custom stand up arcade system with 6000+ games. They’re in the works of building a custom pinball machine.

Built in ‘72, The Dome has graced multiple newspapers for its unique architecture.

While they hold no major parties, there are kickbacks with kegs and bonfires for their closest friends.

The Bus in Front of Dog Shit Park

Resident: Zach

When Ole Today knocked on the door to Zach’s place, current UCSB student-environmental studies major, he was jamming on his couch playing guitar and writing music.

When ask why live in a bus, he said,

I’m tired of paying rent in IV, so I got a bus.”

Zach has one roommate, whose never there so it’s basically his, and lives there full-time, “except between the hours of 10pm and 8am….” (legal purposes if you get what he means . . .)

The bus is fully functional, and even sports insulated walls.

Kids usually slam on the sides, which doesn’t bother him. Some common comments are, “prison bus,” “that bus is sick,” or “what the fuck is that bus doing here?”

Since the bus has no official permanent address, Zach’s mail goes to his friends’ house.

I live a standard life, I just live in a bus.”

6527 Sabado Tarde (Snow Club)

Residents: John, Mike, Jack, Ricky, Matt

The snow club house boasts 5 rooms, with 2 residents to a room.

When I asked how they like it, it was a jumble of different “Awh man its sick,” “It’s so dope,” “Love it,” and “No major conflicts.”

As we all know, the Snow Club House features many keggers and dance parties— last year they held three different IV techno parties.

While these guys usually rock a keg three nights in a row, it’s no surprise they only get 8-10 hours of sleep per weekend.

Most major parties usually have a few hundred people, but their record was around 800.
